On January 30, 2012, at approximately 12:50 PM the UC San Diego Police Department received information of a suspicious package at the Leichtag Building at the School of Medicine on the UC San Diego Campus. The building is being evacuated. Individuals should stay away from the area. There is no additional information available at this time.

(3:55pm) UPDATE/ALL CLEAR - Suspicious Package at Leichtag Building This is an ALL CLEAR message regarding the January 30, 2012, suspicious package at the Leichtag Building at the School of Medicine on the UC San Diego Campus. The suspicious package was examined by law enforcement and fire responders and determined to be harmless (discarded items). As of 4 p.m., the Leichtag Building has been cleared for re-entry. We greatly appreciate your prompt response and cooperation.

Oh, no biggie. I guess it wasn’t that suspicious after all.
Also, the Geisel clock was off by a few minutes recently despite having been pretty accurate for the past three years. Something’s going on. TELL US, CAMPUS POLICE! Or are you clueless and guileless?
